Freda, Jaimy, and I had a girls day in Galveston on Friday after work. Thankfully we are on summer hours, so we get to leave work at noon. The heat was kind of unbearable, but Jaimy introduced us to a place called Beach Hut located right out on the beach. The ocean breeze was wonderful and the pina colada was delicious. We also went to a vintage candy/ice cream shop and tasted one of the most delicious chocolate cookie dough ice cream. I am really thankful to have these ladies in my life and extend our friendship outside of the workplace.
Some of you wonder if I ditch my husband all the time to hang out with the girls. Actually, I don't think I hang out with the girls enough (once every month or so), but Z always knows how to find his fun as well. When I came back Friday night, Z was out with the boys watching Pacific Rim. The rest of the weekend was a nerd festival for him and his friends - they played Munchkin and Super Smash Bros Brawl on Wii. I didn't participate in any of these because I didn't find too much entertaining for some reason. I had to work on Saturday (thanks, admissions), so a lazy weekend was something I sought for anyway.
This morning I got my hair cut first time in 4 months. My hair was super dry and had split ends everywhere, but after a little over an hour and $50 payment later, it returned to the pretty side. I finally got my summer side bangs back and my hair feels a little more manageable. I'm pretty sure I'll be on ponytail all day because of this surreal humidity and heat, so this is going to be the best hair style you'll see of me in a long time.
