There is one thing (actually many things) that a stay-at-home wife (without kids) can certainly enjoy - a long walk. Lilly and I enjoyed a 40 minute walk in the neighborhood this afternoon. It's starting to get really hot here, which reminds me of the summer in Houston, but not having to see concrete highways everywhere makes up for it. This was really our first true long walk. I wanted to explore a walking path that I can use daily, with or without Lilly, so I had my map turned on my phone (cause everyone knows I have no sense of direction) and started walking. Where we live is just outside the St. Louis city limit, so we are most certainly away from the busyness of the city life. Just after minutes of walking you can see a beautiful field landscaping the hills. Oh, that's another think I like about St. Louis - it's not totally flat! We love seeing the well-kept grass, trees, and a lake that's literally minutes away in walking.
I completely forgot how nice it is to be more active outside, so I am thinking this will become our daily activity. As my dad said before, I now have this rare opportunity to take care of myself and enjoy our new home without the stress of having a job. Of course, I am job searching and hope to be back in the workforce in the next couple of months, but for now, I am beginning to enjoy this leisure time I have.
Lilly is now completely pooped out from walking in the heat and finished a whole bowl of water at once. I met and talked to a couple of neighbors, and one in particular stopped her car just to say hi and compliment how cute Lilly is.
