My birthday presents arrived super duper early today. I guess mom was nervous that, with my erratic schedules and impending trip to Austin, I would never be able receive my presents on time. So sweet of her to be so considerate. The mysterious package contained two funny/ridiculously cute cards, two $50 giftcards to Olive Garden and Apples Bee’s (everyone knows I love food), and a pair of boots…so much stuff!!! And I was expecting more like a giftcard and birthday cards…clearly I still don’t know my parents well enough.
FACT: I am a spoiled daughter beyond your imagination.
Funny side story: my brother has been telling me for days (via Skype) to check my mailbox for my birthday card. He also kept telling me that my favorite shoes were on my way, too, but I had no idea what he was talking about. When I mentioned it to my mom, she claimed that a package was on its way, but wasn’t going to involve shoes. The naïve me believed my mom instead of my overly excited brother; I figured my brother assumed whatever new shoes were bought for me. Turns out, my brother was right the whole time. The sweet brother could never lie and didn’t know how to keep a secret. :) He also wrote the sweetest things on my card. I’m such a lucky sister!
