While hosting National Engineers Week at a research park for an entire week is a daunting project, it can be incredibly fun too…especially if you get to drive a Segway. You have probably seen this somewhere – at the mall or maybe a downtown tour (instead of walking 3 or 4 miles) – and my boss decided to bring this to campus. Of course it was purely a fun thing to do, although I tried to make every attempt to understand the physics/science behind this machine. I kind of get it now…maybe.

I wasn’t planning on trying it out, hence the inappropriate outfit for a field activity, but I was eventually forced by my student assistants. It was incredibly fun…I’m not going to lie. I am totally making me & Z go to a Dallas Segway Tour in downtown before this semester is over.

It was fun to watch my boss and all the College of Engineering deans… They practically acted like little kids for 10 minutes, before students showed up. :)
