Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day! I could probably go on about how this day was a result of marketing tactics of businesses, but I also admit that love is truly in the air! Today wasn’t really anything more special than others, especially being out with nerdy engineering majors, but I tried to celebrate the best I could. I do enjoy this day because it is at least one day out of the year to show all my loved ones how I much I truly love and appreciate them. Granted,  I’m not very good at expressing that either. I love you all!! <3


I dressed up my normal office attire but spent the extra time doing my hair, came to the office with a heart cookie on my desk (thanks boss!), sent cheesy love text messages to my men (Wonho, Daddy, and Z) and allowed time for my brother to realize that we sent each other the exact same card. Yes, I have evidence to prove it. When I received his card last night, it dawned on me that I had sent the same one but it didn’t arrive until today. Great minds think alike. Or it was the power of sibling connection. You decide which. I’m going with the latter.

In the end, though, I do miss having all my loved ones around. Sure, I have new loved ones here, but I’m sad not having an opportunity to share the love with everyone I really love in person. This country is simply too big to travel for a weekend!!! I’ve gotten quite accustomed to spending the day alone, but I’m hoping that next year I will have a Valentine’s Day evening to cook, watch a movie, laugh together, and share a bottle of wine with someone (*hint hint Z*).
