Stairway to Wedding

Are you ready for our wedding?  Because I am!!  My wedding planning has felt like at a lost these days because I was no longer feeling sure what to do next.  All the wedding vendors have been actively working with me individually, but now it has become the matter of putting everything together (eeek!).  I have always been one of the naïve brides that believed that wedding planning was going to be easy – food, cake, venue, music…done!  Well, planning a wedding, I realized, is not as straight forward as a planning a campus event for 300 students.  Everything has to be customized and you really have to care about the guests you are inviting to make sure they’re having a special time as Z and I do.  A lot of thoughts and emotions go into every detail  you decide, and it gets tough when are as indecisive as I am.  Have I ever dreamt about a wedding since a little girl?  Absolutely not.  I don’t even watch those TV shows like “4 Weddings” or “Say Yes to the Dress”…so I have been pretty clueless.  I have never been in the center of the attention like where the event professionals stare at me to make final decisions.

Anyways, this afternoon was a BIG step.  Perhaps it was one of the most anticipated days by Z and I for different reasons.  Yes, we went food tasting!  We got to try 5 appetizers (shown above) and 3 entrees, which consisted of trying roasted lamb, filet mignon, and salmon.  You probably now know why Z was so excited about this monumental day.  I was more anxious to see Kristina again for the first time since July.  She is the hotel’s social catering manager, who has been playing a crucial role in this wedding planning and has done awesome job helping me with every little tedious questions I had.  We had our first major discussion about the day of the wedding – information about our vendors, setup details, agenda, and etc.  It really gave me a clear vision about what I need to do in this next two months and 3 days leading up to the wedding.  Z and I, along with two other friends who came with us, had a very delicious and enjoyable tasting (they also served us wine and coffee!).  Let the crunch time begin!
