Between the last post and now a lot of things have happened, as you probably imagined. If you began to wonder if The Little Asian was going to go permanently archived, you now know that I am preparing for a comeback after nearly 3 weeks of hiatus.
I guess the biggest, and yet most important, announcement to make is that… I am married!!! Of course the next few following posts will be everything about the wedding, so I apologize in advance if you get tired of my wedding posts. If you’re wondering what my last name is going to be, well, it’s Mrs. Beh. Yep, I decided to go against the Asian tradition and follow my husband’s last name. A married couple sharing the same last name sounded quite romantic and realistic to me. Mr. and Mrs. Beh had a nice ring to it. I think Z likes my decision… *duh*. So, I am now Mrs. Wonjee Beh. (Dad, I will always be the ‘Oh’ though; always). Of course, I haven’t started the daunting name change process; that shall happen after I survive this month from the admissions life. I’m still getting used to the ‘married’ status and being called (almost jokingly) Mrs. Beh.
As a matter of fact, this New Year’s Eve was Z and I’s first celebration together…ever. We were literally apart for the past 5 NYE celebrations. I always spent that day with my family, and so did he. So, I like to think that’s quite a monumental step for us to celebrate something together for the first time. I imagine there will be lots of ‘firsts’ this year since we are now married. All of those cheesy moments will be discussed later for your entertainment.
We spent the NYE day with our friends in Galveston. Many of our friends returned to their families that week after our wedding, but some of us still stuck around in the area. Roxi hosted a lovely dinner and we spent the rest of the night eating s’mores by her adorable fire pit. Christmas lights were on the balcony and the weather was perfectly cool to be outside. We watched the New York City’s ball go down, and then waited for Central Time Zone countdown. Of course, we shared an NYE kiss :)
The Beh’s wish you a happy, happy new year. We hope that 2012 was a wonderful year as much as ours. It was an epic year for us, and especially for my personal life. I got engaged in the beginning of the year, graduated with my master’s degree, moved to Houston, started my career in higher education, and married to the most amazing guy I ever known. We are very fortunate to have found each other for lifetime and be able to spend the last part of our year reuniting with friends and families. May 2013 be even a more amazing year for everyone!!

Great NYE pic! Glad to hear you survived your first week back at work :) Changing your last name is a lot of work, but people are pretty eager to help you out. Happy New Years! So happy that we could be there in Houston to celebrate with you guys! Definitely a great way to end 2012!
