En route to Lubbock

I am back in Lubbock, Texas, the location of my alma mater, for the first time in 3 years and 4 months.  I am here for work to promote my school at a graduate fair hosted by Texas Tech University.  I built a lot of excitement prior to coming here; I was oddly nervous about arriving at this little town I have spent 4 years of my life.  By the way, Lubbock hasn't changed a bit.  In fact, it seems even smaller now that I have lived in the mighty city of Houston for more than a year.  It's so country, so quiet, and so...empty.  But, it's bringing me back great memories.

My friend, Erika, and her fiancé is letting me staying at their place until Friday.  I didn't get to see her since my wedding in December last year, so this is quite a sweet reunion for us.  I also finally got to meet her pup, Friday.

I had dinner with Matt and Mattie tonight.  They have a lot of exciting changes coming upon them, so I am curious to see where they will be a year from now.  We had sushi for dinner and caught up on a lot of things.  It's great to learn that Mattie is one step closer to receiving her PhD (she is defending this Friday!).

I will be at Texas Tech all afternoon for its graduate fair.  I am excited to look around the gorgeous campus, see the new buildings, and get to have lunch at my favorite old spot.  I'll try to take some pictures.  I'm truly excited.

I miss my hubby and our little pup in Houston.  Hubby has been very busy at his new surgery rotation site, and I have been informed that Lilly misses me.  Watching Friday makes me miss Lilly even more.  That sweet, furry dog.
