Red hair birthday girl

Turning 28 means it's time to go wild.  Ok, just kidding.

My birthday was last Friday...I turned 28.  That definitely sounds much older than 21, which clearly happened 7 years ago.  21 is when I really did go wild (drinking, partying, etc), but somehow in the last 7 years, I have become a full-time working adult, married, a (co)homeowner, and a red hair.

I welcomed year 28 quite peacefully.  My office threw a bbq party (scheduled before they found out about my birthday), which quickly turned into my birthday party.  One of my coworkers graciously hosted the party.  We enjoyed St. Louis style pork steak and had long talks by a fire pit on a crispy fall night.  It was great.  Oh, the birthday song and a cupcake happened that night too.

The next day, I headed to my scheduled hair appointment and asked my stylist to turn my hair red.  Coincidentally, my stylist's hair was red, too.  I also later found out Mrs. B., (my kindergarten teacher) also had some red highlights.  I guess red is the go-to color this season.

I have changed my hair color/style many times before but it was always pretty conservative because I didn't want to look wild...dark brown, light brown...those were the color schemes I went for.  I chose red this time because I wanted to try something a little more different; it was a fun color to have without looking completely wild at the same time.  I'd say my hair stylist did a great job making this color look good on me.

I appreciate you all for calling, texting, leaving voice mail, sending a birthday card, posting on my Facebook to let me know that I am loved.  I do feel loved, all the time.  Presents include a brand new, awesome Samsung tablet from my hubby and winter accessories from my mom.  I don't really obsess over birthday presents, but I do appreciate the time and effort (and monetary commitment) spent to get something nice for me.  Hubby and I also enjoyed fancy steak dinner, courtesy of hubby's cooking skills.  That was probably the best part, honestly.

I love you all, and I very much look forward to what year 28 will bring to me!
