The Legend of 1900

Candace has introduced me and Erika to this wonderful Italian movie. At first, I was hesitant to this two-hour long movie but turned out to be one of the most wonderful movies I have seen thus far.

This movie was unbelievably touching to me in many ways, beyond my imagination. (Though I don't want to spoil the plot) Imagining the character's unchanging condition of life and yet choosing to remain himself with music always being by his side - I don't know, it made complete sense to me. His choice to never step his foot on the land or to be completely content pleasing only a small group of people in this world were ideas in a sense to me very admirable. Even though the possibility with his life was so limited, his personality and talent have impacted so strongly to people that appreciated his existence. It may have changed my perspective on pursuit of happiness.

---

What is my pursuit of happiness? Are we all bound to exist to make a difference in the world...or to add a value in another person's life? Are we living for ourselves or for others? With 22 years of life, I have questioned myself with those questions numerous times. It is difficult, being me, to be content about little things such as 1900. Is it wrong that judge some people whose pursuit is not meant for bigger things? Is it wrong for those who remain in their comfort zones doing what they do everyday? I think not. I respect the fake movie character for portraying as a brave man deciding what makes him believe it's right. Ladies and Gentlemen, not everyone is seeking for different life each year.

On a daily basis, I have encountered myself many times wanting something more (not exactly in an ambitious way) then got disgruntled when things don't favor my way. In fact, I just did that to Z tonight. I feel awful about my immatureness. Hence, lately, I have re-began to pursue a path that I have not taken for a long time: being content with little things. It's hard, but I'm going to try my hardest.

So,
- Let us be happy about close relationships with our family, our friends, and our loved ones in general.
- Let us genuinely enjoy listening to the music we hear, the nature we see, and the wind we feel.
- Let us appreciate what we have around us and not let us to temptation.
- Let us feel confident in what we do.
- Let us not take things for granted especially to ones we love. Let them know that you're there and that you care, it makes a big difference to the person receiving it.
- Let us not regret what we did in the past and look forward to what we have in the future.
- Let us remember what our "real" pursuit of happiness.

Thank you, Candace for this amazing opportunity for me to watch this movie. I recommend everyone else to watch this - it may change your view of life. Plus, the music is absolutely beautiful.

Let the little things in life make you happy...it may be the only thing you can control after all.
