Lisa Lisa used to be a student assistant for the office I worked during graduate school. She is currently in Houston for a short internship, and staying at an extended stay hotel. When she initially told me the news, I was worried about how lonely she must be in a city she has never been and wondered how she was going to take care of herself in general. I invited her over to the Oh-Beh residence for homemade brunch today and caught up with each other’s life since our goodbye in May. I managed to gather some food for her to take until she is able to go buy groceries. I was very happy that I was able to lend her my spare rice cooker and gave her a bag of rice (I know, we’re so Asian!), as well as Z’s gaming mouse, so she can try to stay entertained with computer games at the hotel after work.
It was really great to see the sweet student that I adored, and I hope she has a successful time with her internship!
