I’m sorry for disappearing from the face of the earth since the presidential election post.  Sometimes life gets in the way so much and blogging doesn’t become a priory in my life.  If you are curious, I’m still well alive and kicking with energy.  November is usually an odd month for me – my overall productivity goes down significantly because all I can think about is Thanksgiving (my favorite holiday!!), and yet it is also usually the busiest month.  Demand at work goes up; miraculously all reports are due before Thanksgiving, which doesn’t help with the decreased productivity I experience every year around this time (I feel like I’m back in college meeting all the assignment deadlines…).  Oh and since I am a graduate admissions counselor and the graduate admissions deadline is December 1st for Spring 2013 semester, it probably makes more sense that my workload skyrocketed now that I think about it.
Wedding planning crunch time has officially started!  Exactly 40 days from today I get to become Mrs. Beh (eek!).  Mr. & Mrs. Pawlowic, our friends, were so kind and already sent us gorgeous wedding gifts a few days ago.  Champagne glasses, cheese fork & knife, and a beautiful white platter were delivered to us with a lovely note from them.  I seriously can’t wait to see them – once again, thank you so much for these wonderfully unexpected gifts!  In fact, the white platter was already used yesterday during our brunch with friends (Wish I had taken a picture, but people kind of at the food really quickly…).

Last weekend, we made a trip to Galveston to play beach volleyball with friends and have bbq afterwards.  The weather was perfect, and it felt so nice to enjoy outdoor activities.  My stress from the wedding planning washed away completely, and I was immersed in relaxation.

That same last weekend, I also had a wonderful Sunday breakfast with my students (and now more like friends).  Britney (left) and Lisa (middle) both used to work with me at the Center for Student Affairs office while I was a graduate assistant.  Britney now works for a construction company in Dallas and had visited Houston for a conference.  Lisa is currently doing an internship with a software company here in Houston and recently found out that she will continue her tenure with that company as an official employee.  Even though we are only a few years apart, I am so proud of all the accomplishments these two made so soon after their graduations.  They will always be the first group of students I truly invested in helping.  Thank you Britney for creating this opportunity to reunite!

And…today is baby shower day!  My former college roommate Madonna is pregnant with her first child and it’s a girl!  She is expecting right around Z and my wedding.  She and her husband James are coming down to Houston for a baby shower hosted by her in-laws, and we will be joining them for celebration.  The trio is also reuniting for the first time in 4 years!  The trio consists of myself, Madonna, and Saundra; we were all college roommates and virtually did everything together until each of us graduated one at a time.  Saundra, now living in Austin, will be joining for the occasion too.  It is going to be a wonderful day and exciting to be presenting all the cute little stuff Z and I got for Katrina.
