Baby Katrina is almost here! Today we celebrated the baby’s impending arrival with her parents Madonna and James. Both of them are my good friends from college and Madonna was my former college roommate. We shared a lot of great memories, and I was excited to be part of another special moment of their lives. James’ parents and relatives live in Houston so the future parents drove down from Dallas just for the occasion.
I was excited to see all of the cute clothes and items that everyone got for Madonna and James. Everything was so pink!! Some of the hilarious moments included people having to wear diapers after losing to a baby game, which included Z as well. To save the embarrassment, I decided not to share that particular picture. :)
What was most exciting, however, was the Trio (myself, Saundra, and Madonna) being reunited for the first time since 2008. We all graduated from Texas Tech at different times and it was difficult to get together with all of us living so far away from each other since then. Suddenly in recent months, we all ended up relocating closer to each other, especially Madonna and James moving back to Texas, so traveling became a little more manageable. Saundra drove from Austin this morning to see both of us and will be doing the same travel again for my wedding next month. We all became emotional; Saundra started bursting into tears. I am always grateful for these two amazing women in my life since 2006 and our continued friendship.
