Here is to my much, much delayed post about my trip to New York a couple of weeks ago. Despite a short 5-day visit, each day was pretty packed. My family wanted to spend time with me as much as possible, and I really felt the same way. I visit was definitely not long enough, but at least it was a start. Have I mentioned before how excited I was to go back? This place is literally filled with happy memories and sometimes childhood memories that can be easily forgotten. Of course, there are a lot of things I don't remember and it makes me wish that I was a little older when I used to live here.
We started Friday with a 'short' road trip to Allegany State Park. To me, 2.5 hour road trip is considered very short. I don't have much memories of this place except for numerous pictures displaying the gorgeous, color leaves we have taken in the fall season.
This park was breathtaking. It may not unique enough to be considered a national park, but I just couldn't believe what I was seeing. For someone who has been living in big cities for most of the adulthood, witnessing this natural beauty can not be taken care for granted. The best part is that we did a whole lot of nothing. We just admired the fresh air, the vastness of trees and water, and listened to the birds. It was the perfect peacefulness that I longed for a while.
