Weekend in Dallas

Life has been pretty busy at the Beh's household.  Z has been away from home for 2 weeks (and counting) now to do a plastic surgery rotation at UT Southwestern.  It's a really good program, so I am proud of him for taking the opportunity to network and enhance his surgical skills.

Because of this, we have been in long-distance marriage again.  The distance between Dallas and Houston is not that bad, so Lilly and I made a second visit this past weekend.  A very good married couple friends of ours lives in the DFW area and graciously allowed Z to stay at their guest bedroom, and inevitably letting me and a furry dog join in the stay as well.  On Saturday, we invited the rest of the college friends in the area for a weekend feast, which consisted of smoked pork shoulder, homemade mac and cheese, mango/pineapple salad, and potato salad.  We were stuffed, and I think we took nap almost every day too.

It was a rather short trip but a much needed reunion for all of us.  I wish I recorded a video when Lilly went crazy after seeing her dad for the first time in two weeks.  That little furry dog.  Lilly is becoming a trooper when it comes to road trips.  She used to be very anxious and couldn't sit still; now, she is very calm and knows how to entertain herself at the rear seat without bothering me during the drive.

As soon as we came back home, Lilly went straight back to her usual spot to observe the outside world and occasionally growl at the passing squirrels and birds.
