I had my 3rd tutor training today (1 each semester). The staffs decided to experiment with a new format - a series of concurrent sessions, which I believe have worked out wonderfully. Of course, there are always pros and cons to everything, but this newly implemented training system seemed to engage tutors' mind better. In previous trainings, they have been a regular 6-hour-sitting-down-and-do-nothing sort thing. This semester, they tried to use more interactive approach and panel style between returners and newcomers of tutors. Personally, this day was kudos to our fabulous academic counselors.

Watching them (academic counselors) made me convinced more that I am on the right track with my future goal. I enjoy them training us and experimenting variety of techinques to help students in need. I am indeed more excited with my application process due to this. I really hope I get in to one of the school I am currently applying.
My students for this semester seems to be all male again; I don't mind at all. There are some new subjects that I am expected to help them with [I have taken all these but have not tutored those before], and I am excited about it. One particular subject is Physical Anthropology; I personally have loved taking that class and is thrilled to finally to use my experience with it [I still have all the pictures/notes!].

Though I feel hesitant about walking into a classroom for the first time since early May, I am ready to get this year rolling. Application process has gradually been completed and submitted, it is my last year as an undergrad, and work environment has gotten even better than last year.
Most definitely, this will be an adventurous but fun year!
PS- My biggest saddness goes to the passing of Sen. Ted Kennedy. It was so sad that some tutors today did not even know this legendary man.
