Life

Life...it has been busy. Very busy, in fact. My interview last week in Dallas went great; the overall experience was awesome. Me and 20 sum students were treated with a very nice hospitality (great hotel, food, and after-interview event) and interview process was indeed intense but unique. Whether I get the job or not, I feel like there has been a tremendous gain in experience for me.

I spent rest of the week and the following weekend with Z. Luckily, he was able to reschedule the clinical round with UT Southwestern around the similar time (thank you!) hence enabling himself to meet me in Dallas. Of course, we both have received such pleasant hospitality from Z's brother and his wife. My alone experience in Dallas was therefore much comforting because of their support.

Perhaps the biggest thing I have accomplished during that trip was perhaps the piercing. No - nothing crazy. The fact is, I have never gotten my ears pierced until that Sunday in Houston. No matter how scared and childish I acted, Z encouraged me all the way to make sure that I accomplished my goal for the year (mainly I just wanted to be able to get prettier earrings than the clipped ones). I got it done at Clarie's with a pierced gun thing, which I now realize I could've gotten done at a professional piercing place to get a better alignment, sanitation, and all. The alignment was difficult due to my abnormally small ears but it is a satisfactory level. And no, no infection so far. Hopefully this will allow for a better accessory experience.

Z and I begun to agree more on the fact that Dallas is a great place to live. Though it is assumable that the cost-of-living for downtown area is relatively more expensive, it's a great location with numerous amazing restaurants/bars, beautiful park, nice shopping area, and most of all a great neighborhood for young professionals. It would be a wonderful place to live if the opportunity ever presents to one of us.

I'm tired. I think it's time to go to bed now. Good night.
