A great day of Thanksgiving has filled our family with joy and happiness. Thanksgiving Day have always been a special day for the Oh Family because of our arrival to the U.S. around this time. This year, we celebrated our 8-year anniversary in U.S., and we can't imagine our lives being any happier than it is now. Since our 'first trial' of Thanksgiving dinner 8 years ago, some changes have gone through - we are very pleased with our improvement each year!
- We made our first attempt with an uncooked turkey this year. We have always used a pre-cooked turkey in past years but due to some circumstances (i.e., not being able to find a pre-cooked bird) we had to step into an unknown territory. After much worries and studying [thanks to YouTube], we have successfully cooked a 20lb turkey! The taste was excellent thanks to the tremendous effort made by mom and dad.
- This year, we welcomed a new family to our dinner festivity - the family friend who have moved to Las Cruses, New Mexico over last summer. From a family of five, we now had a dinner with a combined family of nine in total, including the mother who came from Korea to take care of her grandson while the young family settles down in their new nest. We was an amazing day catching up about each other but most of all enjoying in an atmosphere filled with smiles and laughter. It was an incredible day.
- Sadly though, I failed to take pictures of all of us and the endless amount of food we had. I must have had forgotten about it from staring at all those amazing foods that my mom have made this morning [me and my brother eventually made mashed potatoes! :)].
Overall, it was a fun-filled eventful day. This is why I love Thanksgiving and could easily say as my favorite holiday of all time. Food, family, and laughter - what more could you ask for in one day? :)
PS- I now have a food coma; I can't breathe...
