No pain, No gain

I learned how to iron my clothes for the first time. Am I a late learner??

I never bothered to learn ironing clothes back in four years of college. I always had them ironed, by my mom, before I returned to school after each break. Technically, I didn’t need many clothes to be ironed because I wore casuals all the time, except for career fairs & occasional presentations for classes.

Now that I’m 23, faced with becoming a Graduate Assistant for a university (cause, supposedly, it is considered as a school staff), & learning that casuals are not allowed for my job, forced me consider ironing my clothes. After all, I am a person that would hate having wrinkles for my work attires. Or, I simply needed to upgrade myself as an adult for real.

My mom patiently taught me how to iron dress shirts, pants, & skirts. I think I have gotten a hang of it – I sometimes made my own wrinkles that had failed to reverse the situation at times, but with more practice, I feel like I will do as good as my mom & dad. I merely hope I had inherited my parents’ awesome ironing skills, with my mom having years of practice & dad being an expert of it.

I loved how my wrinkly clothes gradually straightened out after some serious heat & steam. In the process, I probably had my fingers burned couple of times – no pain, no gain. Nonetheless, I already foresee my weekends filled with ironing clothes just because I get so into it now. There are just some domestic activities I enjoy too much.

Now I just want to iron ALL my clothes. But that would be highly unnecessary, wouldn’t it?
