Couple of weekends ago, me & few other friends participated in a campus-wide volunteering event called Make A Difference. I thought it was a neat way to give back to the new community that I call as my new home.
I volunteered the entire morning at a local thrift store, organizing & hanging donated clothes that were about to be displayed in the store. Personally, I love buying used items from thrift stores, and having been searching for one since I moved, this became a great addition to my “to-go” list when shopping.
Just thought I would share this experience because I had a great time meeting new people. It always feels nice being able to volunteer despite having a busy schedule. I almost wished that this could be something I do every weekend if there weren’t any prior engagements.
