I have a strange habit to confess. Luckily this isn’t a strange incident of me when I’m surrounded by the family, but thinking about it, I wonder if similar habits are shared with others…
So the story is this:
I have a 10 page research paper due tomorrow at midnight (though it’s turning to be a 18-page paper). It’s a history paper regarding higher education. Naturally my topic was inspired by my own experience: tutoring at Texas Tech. It’s been more than two weeks since I started typing out about the history of students with learning disabilities (the diagnosis, legal issues…everything) and how it has affected the way postsecondary institutions operate. Pretty daunting task it is.
This evening, two men (aka my boyfriend & a good engineering friend of mine) graciously agreed to critique my paper. While all that was happening, instead of working on my paper more, I decided to vacuum and dust the entire apartment. I’m getting so good at cleaning it only takes 30 minutes max to go from a disaster to awesomeness.
Cleaning helps clear my brain – I think better, I do better, & I act better. It’s almost as if I couldn’t function until I had the perfect environment. I am definitely OCD.
Rumor says that my dad, mom, & little brother have the exact same habit as I do. Perhaps I wonder if this could be genetic (Z, I already know what you’re going to say)?
I simply find it amusing that we all share very strange but similar habit.
Now onto some laundry then finishing this monstrous paper.
