December marks the 50th birthday of the most awesome woman known to me, my mom. Realizing that I will not be able to partake in the celebration, we decided celebrate it a little early (according to the Lunar Calendar, her birthday is next Tuesday). Me, Wonho, and Z ventured out to choose the perfect cake; we wanted to make her happy so we also bought flowers too. Mom always love beautiful flowers in her kitchen.
When buying for candles, I became ambitious and suggested to actually install 50 candles if we could. My “men” didn’t disagree (does that mean they agreed?). It became clear pretty soon that 50 candles could become a bonfire instead, which it did exactly happen. I was extremely nervous for all the candles that were burning down before the birthday song, but we managed to survive without burning down the house. I figured that was a good laugh for my mom as she witnessed her cake on fire as it approached.

All in all, it was a wonderful evening. Though not official yet, it was surreal in knowing that my parents have entered in their 50s. They’re the exact same looking couple as I remembered as a kid. I feel like they never age physically and are always the happy/smiley couple. I am incredibly lucky to have these amazing people in my life, but my biggest appreciation goes to my mom who is always taking care of us day and night. It’s as if she’s a female ninja that never goes to sleep. I hope one day she’ll get a break from taking care of all of us and get herself a vacation (aka I’ll send her to a vacation!).
Love you, mommy!!!

OMG..I love the title "Cake on Fire" because it TOTALLY LOOKS LIKE IT WAS ON FIRE IN THE CENTER OF THE TABLE....BWAHAHAHAAHAH
