My Grandma Across the Pacific

I certainly know I was born in the right century when an amazing program called Skype was created and did amazing things to people’s lives. Today, my special thanks goes to Skype once again and to my far away cousin in Singapore, who made all of this moment possible (he bought the webcam). 

In the midst of staying busy with house chores, I was stopped by an unexpected Skype call. It was my grandma (from my mom’s side) from Korea, who finally entered the world of international video chat. First of all, I’m so proud of her for showing all sorts of amazingness with technology at her age– she rocks!

It was our first face-to-face, though virtually, for the first time in 10 years. We last saw each other when my family permanently moved to the U.S.  I was 15 years old.
