Madri Gras Madness

This is completely outdated, but I wanted share that I participated in Mardri Gras for the first time last weekend!  A big Mardri Gras parade and celebration was held in Galveston.  My co-worker, Jaimy, invited Freda and I to the island to join the party.  I have heard of its craziness before on the news, but this was the first time for me to partake in the event.  As expected, the event was full of excitement, huge parades, and lots of craziness (aka throwing beads at us which can be kind of frightening).  There were cheap drinks everywhere and random men tried to flirt with us, but we were pretty safe throughout the night.

Z was also on the island that same night, but he was in his medical school crowd at Roxi's loft.  Jaimy and Freda walked with me to Roxi's place later that night so I can reunite with Z.  These ladies hung out with us for a little bit more until Jaimy's brother safely picked them up to return to their house.

While Mardri Gras was extremely fun, I was so happy to be back at home and just relax.  The next day at work, I had heard about the riot that occurred in Galveston on Saturday.  I was thankful that none of us were stuck in that situation.

Our upcoming adventure is exploring the Houston Livestock Show & Radio.  We bought tickets to a concert by The Band Perry for March 9.
