Married Life: One Year

Two days ago, we celebrated our one year of marriage.  ONE YEAR!  We love being together as a married couple.  Our relationship has grown and molding ever since we met in 2007, but married life brought us a whole new kind of dimension.  We respect each other more; we think and act as a team; we love us.  Our first year of marriage was a great celebration and an accomplishment we were very proud of.

We share our anniversary with my parents; this year is their 28th year anniversary.  However, my parents were so kind and generous in offering to take care of Lilly while we went out on our anniversary date [Don't worry, they got their date a couple of days before ;) ].

We haven't had a chance to go on a honeymoon yet, so we wanted our day to be special and fun.  Niagara Falls became our choice of destination because we never really got a chance to see the Falls in the wintertime.  We knew it was going to be cold out there, so we bundled up and headed towards Canada.  The Canadian border offers a better overall view of the Falls.  The views of the Falls in the wintertime were breathtaking (and cold!).  While the majority of the snow fell previously melted, the mist was still cold enough to freeze the surrounding rocks and plants, which appeared to look like snow.

Our anniversary dinner was reserved at Savor, a restaurant ran by the Niagara Culinary Institute near the Niagara Falls.  We showed up earlier than our reservation time because we were so hungry from all the walking in the cold weather... LOL  A bottle of wine was ordered as well as delicious appetizers.

My dinner

Before the dinner, Z surprised me with an anniversary gift.  It was a beautiful necklace that he wanted me to wear everyday.  Several years back, I had given him a necklace for Valentine's Day, which he never took it off since.  He thought it would be nice for me to have a necklace I can wear everyday that I am emotionally connected to.  Z has always been so observant of me and thoughtful.

Z's dinner

We concluded our date by watching the illumination of the Falls (US side).  It was magical.

The whole day was quite magical.  Love you, hubby.
