24th birthday (this is a long post)

Everyone, today I turned 24! Lots of thanks are in order to make this day/weekend extremely special. Thank you so very, very much for making this birthday a memorable one.

My birthday weekend began with a surprise celebration by my boss & all the student assistants that worked there. We had a great laugh about the assortment of cakes because she didn’t know what I would like. Everything was delicious. All in all, I was truly surprised & touched by the people I work with.

I went for a little shopping & got myself a treat from TJ Max. I thought it would suit very well for holiday season, don’t you think?

Then, I arrived home with an unknown package from my boyfriend & the Barton’s. I had already promised not to open them until he arrived, so I just sat there staring at the boxes for a while. In the meantime, I made dinner while he was on his way from Galveston.

I anxiously opened up the package sent from the Barton’s…it was an apron & ice scrapper for the winter time!!! I thought the apron was completely lovely. Z had completely surprised me with a Wii with a pair of motion plus & nun chucks. It was a perfect gift for my birthday & our upcoming anniversary. I particularly loved it because it would be one more thing we could do together!

I talked to my family that night & wished me an early happy birthday!

On Saturday, we made a quick drive to another town in Dallas to go to all-you-can-eat Korean barbeque restaurant. Our stomachs were pleasantly happy & unbelievably full.

That night, we had another intimate birthday celebration with a cake that Z bought at the Asian market while I shopped for groceries. I loved that the cake was intricately detailed. It was the first time in years that I had eaten a Korean cake.

 

So, as another year is closing out, I begin with a new age & the new life that comes alongside. This weekend was another moment of truly blessed & happiness that not all people get privileged of. I was touched by my boss whom I just began working with two months ago, the second parents in the North who has always been so thoughtful, all the friends that called & texted me with birthday wishes, my family who are always supportive of me & what I do even from long distance, and the boyfriend who doesn’t hesitate to make the five hour drive, despite the upcoming final exam at med school, to celebrate my birthday for the first time in person.
