I love the anxiety of coming home, my real home. I’m back in El Paso to do the most important interview in my life: getting my American citizenship. It’s the moment I’ve been waiting for a long time.
Although I feel unsettled about coming home with a set purpose & not being able to hang out with them even for 24 hours before I hop on the plane back to Dallas, I’m still glad to see them for a little bit at least. According to my mom, it was 50 days ago I said another “see you later”.
Despite my short stay, my mom still had the time to make my favorite food (a noodle soup type) & bought a pre-birthday cake for me to enjoy. It was very touching.
I simply wish I could stay at home longer.
