While I’m taking a short but sweet break before my long night begins, something got me thinking.
Is there such thing as an email addiction?
I recall reading an article of that & describing how people in our society is so hooked into the world of email. At first I didn’t believe it, until now. I discovered myself, sometimes obsessively, checking for emails every opportunity I could get. Sometimes it’s the fear of missing out on important information that requires immediate attention, but other than that, I believe some emails can wait for later.
I haven’t quite found the boundary between being prompt with information & being obsessive, but I do think my world might revolve too much around emails.
So, I decided to allow my Outlook work offline & download emails every two hours instead of every 10 minutes. Perhaps it’s a habit that needs to be broken. I figured the world will NOT for not checking them immediately. If an emergency, there is something called “calling the person.”
Right?
