This past weekend was incredibly eventful in many ways. While I had originally scheduled to visit Z, I was also down there to fulfill my first on-campus job interview with University of Houston – Clear Lake. Yes, it was an exciting news that was received a week before, to interview for a position I applied two weeks ago. All I can say at this point is that I am happy with my interview, considering it was the first interview in two years, and I am hoping for a fruitful outcome. The campus is absolutely beautiful – it is housed in the wildlife and nature preserve by NASA where you can frequently witness deer and wild animals.

Another agenda item was go on apartment hunting with Z. After careful consideration, Z and I have decided live together even during our engagement period due to economic reason. While we are fully aware of the concerns addressed to us now and in the past, we felt like this is the best decision we could come up with, economically and for our professional career path. This wasn’t something that I had personally planned in life, but Z and I were grateful for both of our parents’ permission on our decision. After looking around 7-8 apartments, we are eyeing on couple places that we love and hoping to sign a lease relatively soon. I’ll certainly be in a much better spirit if I was to secure a full-time position by that time. Prayers are appreciated! :)

My other weekend duty was to serve as Z’s date to his medical school gala. It was another occasion for us to be dressed fancy and pretend we were celebrities (note the sarcasm). It was great to see Z’s friends, but I particularly enjoyed my night-long conversation with Joyce, Z’s roommate’s girlfriend. It was a very futuristic conversation – talking about weddings, future career path, our parents and etc. I rarely converse with females for a long time, but Joyce has always been a great person to share life stories. I was completely exhausted by end of Saturday night, but the laziness of Sunday really made up for it.

I’m now back at home and gearing for the last two weeks of my grad school. Technically I still have about a month left until graduation, but the marathon of crazy assignments should conclude around the end of April. Next month I am very excited to have my family and Z in town to celebrate my impending graduation! Please keep me and Z in your thoughts as we make some drastic changes in our lives.
