With just me, my boss, and a few student volunteers/paid assistants, we managed to serve food and entertainment to 400+ people. Of course the D-day involved the typical windy weather with its temperature in the 90s. My inability to adequately apply sunscreen left with extremely tanned (or brunt) forehead, legs, and neck. Let’s just say I took a cool shower and haven’t budged in my apartment since I got back. While tired is certainly an understatement, I’m glad today’s work involved being outside all day to enjoy good food and live entertainment [our event was EarthFest – celebrating our Earth!] because I got seemingly worse each day with stress and anxiety before. Though my body is tired, I think mentally I am slightly refreshed and positivity came back to life.

Wonjee,
ReplyDeleteWow, this looks like so much fun! Are those round things in the background plastic inflatables that you can get inside and run around in like a hamster?!?! I've seen those on tv but never in person.
Sounds like your event was really successful, minus your sunburn ;) I can't imagine planning and then hosting an event for 400+ people. I think in my history of organizing residence hall events the most we ever had was 200. Great job!
Glad to hear that there are times when you get to relax at work and have fun. Your campus looks so nice and green. Hope you get to enjoy a restful weekend and that your job search is going well!

PS- Arbor Day is this Friday at Tech!
