Planning Together

Z and I went to Nordstrom Wedding Suite for my second dress fitting today.  Many of my girlfriends were surprised that I took the husband-to-be to to show my wedding dress long time before the wedding, but it didn’t bother me at all.  To me, at least, it’s not about following the superstitious tradition of ‘groom seeing the dress before the wedding brings bad luck,’ but doing what is best for us.  It may be because we have already been living together, so if he really wanted to see it he technically can.  What has been most important about this wedding planning is that we are planning a special occasion together that celebrates the togetherness of our relationship since 2007.  There is absolutely nothing wrong about him making input on the dress I will be wearing, just as I will put the same input on the suit he will wear.  If that takes away the ‘surprise factor’, well, maybe it’s not about surprising each other but enjoying the process of this planning together.

Thus being said, I wanted to show you a glimpse of my dress.  It is one of my favorite parts of the dress, and I am so appreciative of the care and kindness expressed by the Wedding Suite staff.  I was over the moon when Christina (my wedding stylist) and I witnessed Z’s instant reaction.  He still hasn’t the seen the final look (accessories, hair, makeup, etc), but I think he is loving the simplicity and the elegance of the dress.

We had lunch at Cheesecake Factory in the Galleria Mall and did a little bit of shopping (Did you guess Gap?  You got that right).  I am so happy Z has been at his best to make himself available whenever I need his support.  Wedding planning with him is quite fun!
