A sigh of relief

It has finally hit me that I will be a grad student. I've been wanting to be in that position ever since college has started - it was just matter when that would have been. Initially, I was planning grad school after having some work experiences in the business world. Turns out not everything works the way you planned. The economy played a partial role but, in the end, I knew I wanted to continue my education in somewhere I was truly interested in.

This weekend I am Houston to see my boyfriend. I have been traveling so frequently to the point that I miss sleeping in my bed. This is my out-of-town weekend until my graduation...perhaps last time coming to Houston. I decided I wasn't going to assume that it will be my last trip here because I might come down once more before he moves for med school.

We went to Todai for lunch. They make sushi, some Chinese/Japanese food, and Brazilian steak. It was so delicious...I probably ate too much. Wish my parents were here to enjoy these foods. They also had green tea smooth ice cream. "Incredibly delicious".

We also got a haircut. I needed one and forced Z to come with me [because he's my driver...duh]. We both ended up getting a haircut, and we look better than before. It was a big salon in the Galleria Mall...very fancy place. My hairstylist was very nice. She gave me some tips on my wavy, frizzy hair - I really appreciated that. She styled my hair later on, and it was all pretty [and it was cheaper than what I pay for in Lubbock!]. My hair only looks nice when a hairstylist takes care of it, like today. I liked today's style a lot. Z liked it too.

I went to Gap (my favorite store of all) and got a pair of white pants. It was very comfortable and good looking. When we came back to his apartment, he made me strawberry chocolate smoothie. He got a new blender not a while back, so he has been having fun with various fruit smoothies. I would say he is doing a great job with it. For dinner, he made me pasta with chicken. I am so lucky to have a boyfriend who could cook so well (and doesn't mind cooking for me!).

I am so happy to know what I will be doing after graduation, finally. Now I just need to focus on graduating, enjoy the remainder of time I have left as an undergrad, and look forward to the life that is waiting upon me and Z after this spring. I can now have a sigh of relief...
