Again, we meet again

Two nights ago I had a fun reunion night with a college friend who has been in Hawaii as a Teach for America corps member. Since we are both in our hometown for a short period of time, we were quick to find a reunion date. And we did.

I took my friend, Irene, with me to a local downtown bar that we have never been to & there I was reunited with the friend whom I had known since high school. On our way there, the vibrant Christmas lights caught our attention so we took some pictures. We were absolutely in love with the holiday spirit.

Meeting Carlos was very emotional. We hugged for minutes & kept telling each other how much we missed one another. Last time we saw each other was in May to say goodbye (—> My goodbye to Carlos in May). Sure, talking to him on Skype is nice but not nicer than actually seeing one in person. He looked more mature & had an attitude of a teacher, which made me laugh every time I reminisced him as a crazy college student.

People always called us twins because we always followed a similar track in life. We both got our business degree @ Texas Tech but separated our ways to no other than the education field. We had a great time exchanging our drastically-different work stories: him filled with cute stories about 3rd grade children & mine about serious college engineering students. In the end, we discovered that we both aspire to get a MBA degree. It seemed like the passion for understanding the business world had never left us.

I’m looking forward to see the path we each take, but I wouldn’t mind having him near me again later.
