Cohort party

On Saturday night, I was invited to a friend’s holiday potluck. Most of the people that are in our masters program got together to enjoy the holiday spirit even though we still had a major paper left to do by the following week.

I was busy all day baking pasta, which turned out to be good but also humongous as well. I’ve always had an issue with keeping the right portion – being the food advocate I am – I tend to cook a lot. Turns out it was alright because everybody ended up eating most of what I brought. I take that as a good sign.

We had fun talking about school & work, which can never seem to leave our minds… we played Catch Phrase & Apples to Apples, two of the most intense games I’ve ever experienced that night…and drank & ate all we wanted.

I have to say it was VERY relaxing. Even though we can bump heads with each other because we see each other almost everyday in class & other work functions, it’s nice to have a set of group you can always rely on. It feels like a family, which is nice considering I am 800 miles away from an actual family.
