Today is quite a memorable day to remember. I have worn glasses for the past 15+ years, such a long ago to the point I don't remember the point of origin, but recently wanted to see some changes in me. I am one of those people who neglected their eyes and refused to go the eye doctor for some strange reason, but I braved my way to the College Optical Express located on my campus this morning. I think it's pretty cool that there is an optometrist on campus. Anyways, my eyes turned out be just fine with slight worsening of vision.
Somewhere in me wanted to try contact lenses for a while but never had the courage to do so. A bridesmaid with glasses on? Hmmm... I don't think it will look flattering. It didn't take much convincing from the amazing Dr. Tran to try on contact lenses. Of course I was terrified as hell because can you imagine putting objects in your eyes?!?!? I am a strong person, and I survived. :)
Coincidentally, Yolanda's appointment was just after mine and had the honor of capturing the first look of glass-less me. Thanks, Yo!
It feels absolutely strange walking around without glasses on. Looking in the mirror of myself, and just myself only but with very clear view of the world, is even more weird. I am constantly aware of the contact lenses in my eyes, and thus slightly uncomfortable; however, it a pleasant change for me and a new look that I am happy to embrace.
