I figured it would be appropriate to have a proper ending to the series of cruise posts. The day of our arrival, we were in middle of the ocean for several more hours before we finally disembarked due to heavy fog. I never seen such dense fog in the ocean before, and it was quite magical and yet creepy to be in it. We were somehow close enough to Galveston to receive cell phone signal, so Z and I spent a good amount of time calling and text the loved ones about our newly engaged status. Women were mainly screaming (it felt that way) with joy and men were pretty chill from what I’ve heard. The greatest moment was when I called my parents to let them know, and I felt the surrealism from them. I’m sure it was a long, anxious wait for my parents to finally receive the news (Z asked for my dad’s permission during our Galveston weekend).
It was simply an unforgettable week. I had no idea that this trip was going to change the course of my life, however, it was nice for us to completely soak up our new status without the world knowing about it. Of course I absolutely loved this trip in general. I think traveling on a cruise is a fantastic idea – you have food, hospitality, and entertainment all taken care of at a reasonable price. And how amazing is it to be at 3 different places in one week?! This is certainly something Z and I would love to do it again in a distant future. Next time, I would love for my parents and Wonho to join!
