Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! We visited a friend and her fiancé who recently relocated to Houston. They fed us with lots of delicious grilled foods and desserts. We attempted to watch the firework at Hermann Park, but the large crowds, lack of parking, and heat brought us immediately back home. While I hoped to partake in a more traditional celebration, I was happy to avoid mosquitoes (that’s another whole story to be discussed. Houston mosquitoes are in love with me). I spent the rest of the evening watching a little bit of TV and taking a bubble bath, while Z got his daily fix of computer games. All in all, it was a wonderful way to embrace our freedom – a freedom to relax and feeling blessed to live in one of the safest countries in the world.
Returning to work today felt like Monday all over again, but I’m looking forward to half-day work and a much needed haircut tomorrow.
