Waiting for Another Day

We were forced to cancel our engagement photo session today, thanks to the ever wonderful weather of Houston.  You can tell that I’m a little upset, after spending an hour doing my hair and makeup and carefully coordinating outfits with Z, we had to fold our plan.  Actually, I was a little worried about the rain today since I carefully paid attention to the weather radar, and sure enough, the dark clouds, and eventually rain all occurred right during the time the photoshoot was about to start.  Funny thing is that the rain never really poured, but it was just really dark outside – too dark to take happy pictures.

I don’t mind doing the hair and makeup all over again, but I seriously dislike witnessing my plan fall behind.  I’m never a big fan of rescheduling things and using another precious weekend of mine to repeat a task that should’ve been completed before.  Welcome to life, I guess.  Ever since I moved, Houston never had a gorgeous weather – it has always been a little cloudy or rainy, especially on the weekends.  I pray one day (hopefully soon!) that Houston will let us have a sunny day for us to take some nice engagement photos.

I have to compliment, though, how amazingly positive my fiancé is.  He took the upsetting moment (I was surely more upset than he was) and tried to make the best out of it.  He ended up improvising and took me out on a date.  We had dinner at Thai Bistro, which was our visit and was good, and hung out a little bit at the Galleria Mall.  We didn’t buy anything there, but it was just nice to walk around.  He really did everything he can to make me feel better and to help me understand that I simply can’t control everything.  Although, I’m still blaming everything on the weather, I feel much better.  Let’s hope that I get this big activity crossed off from my list soon!
