Eric in Town

It’s always fun to have a friend who is naturally humorous and interesting; that’s our friend.  He came into town for a friend’s wedding and spent almost a week with us.  Between sleeping on my twin size bed and the world’s most comfortable couch, he really brightened us up with humors and story telling.  Living in Minneapolis, he has been missing Asian food a lot, so we took him out to all the favorite Asian restaurants he used to go with Z when they were both in Teach for America.  I do think he greatly misses Houston, but he’ll soon become a full-time MBA student in Michigan.  As a Target employee, he was generous enough to use his employee discount to buy us our new ottoman for the bedroom (we paid him back, of course).  We spent his last night watching the Amazing Spiderman movie and enjoying the most delicious Asian dessert ever – shaved iced with fruit (the condensed milk is a brilliant final touch to the overall flavor).  We had a wonderful time with him, and we can’t wait to see him again for our wedding in December!
