Weekend in Review

Instagram

We enjoyed a rather relaxing weekend.  Although there seemed to be constant house chores, especially in preparation for the launch of Z’s 3rd year medical school (he started his clinical rotation today), we managed to do things we wanted to do and get a few things checked off on our to-do list.  Our apartment looks even more settled now that we donated the items to Goodwill that have been piling up in the corners of our apartment.  The self-proclaimed germaphobe in me finally spent hours on cleaning the apartment – cleaning our 920 square foot place found to be much more difficult than the 460 square foot apartment I used to live in.  My friend Jessica came into town for a day, so we took her out to Grand Lux Café.  It was so great to see her since graduation.  I got my annual inspection and cleaning done for the ring, thus the “bling bling” is back.  By the way, I’m not explaining this in any chronological form…oops.

It rained in Houston all weekend long.  Literally, all weekend long.  My hopes to hang out by the pool was clearly vanished, but I enjoyed a fair share of lazy time in our cozy and clean apartment.  This week is particularly exciting for the fact that Wednesday is a national holiday, Independence Day.  I could selfishly get used to a 4-day work week and having each Wednesday off – selfishly speaking, of course.  Z and I plan to spent a relaxing 4th of July morning/afternoon, and then meet up with his friends in the evening to celebrate his birthday, enjoy firework, and listen to live symphony orchestra.
