Food, babysitting, & thunderstorm

I know it’s not quite the end of the summer yet, but it seems like so for many people around us. For those that are affiliated with school at any level usually feels like July 31st an end of a summer & a beginning of a new year. With Z & I returning to school, & the Bae couple, from Las Cruces, heading back to their respective universities for work, the long but an amazing summer finally came to an end today.

And today, my family hosted a cookout & invited the Bae family to celebrate the end of this great summer together. We were very lucky, or almost took an advantage, of Z’s presence as he was literally the master of grill cooking. Was that too exaggerated? No, I think our belief was confirmed, again, today.

Z grilled some amazing really-fat steaks & beer brats which was first for the family. My mom, brother, & I loved assisting him while my dad got busy preparing our patio for our guests.

We enjoyed immensely of Z’s cooking skills, along with some local wines & desserts. Laughter was endless while catching up each other’s summer stories & Baby Daniel’s innocently humorous acts.

In the late afternoon, El Paso, surprisingly, brought us some unexpected but cool scattered thunderstorms, and we had an unique viewing of the mother nature as we witnessed the rain coming for us from distance. It was truly magical & almost surreal. The thunderstorm completely washed away the remainder of heat & replaced with cool, fresh air.

Z & I, in particular, were also busy babysitting for the ever-growing Baby Daniel, who no longer seemed to look or act like a baby anymore. I suppose I should eliminate his ‘baby’ title. I was very happy to see him & Z playing together…Baby Daniel seemed to really like him a lot.

After saying “goodbye” to our dear family friends & Baby Daniel, Z & I are relaxing as we are exhausted from being chased by the mighty baby. By the way, I have hooked Z into “Glee”…he seems to be liking it a lot from the way he is laughing right now.
