“Ouch” moments

I’m going to make tonight’s post as short as I can because I’m exhausted.  Long story short, I have been outside all day hosting Earth Fest, where we celebrate the existence of earth by bringing foods & entertainment, passing free goodies, & providing some educational materials such as sustainability.  Because of such intense activity [yes, working in student affairs occasionally mean doing some hard labor], I decided to wear comfortable shoes – polo shirt, jeans, tennis shoes, & a hat.  Don’t worry, being small also means getting lots of help from random male students.  I really just stood there & told guys what to do!

When I arrived in the evening for class, I was told that I look like a boy in which I really did, because some of the engineering students were confused about my gender as well.  Having short hair is such a blessing but as a trade-off, I get mistaken frequently.  I suppose I didn’t look “feminine” enough today.  My good friend, Allie, decided to take a picture of me so I went all gangster-look.  Now looking at this, I do look like a boy.  Hmmm…

Unfortunately, working outside virtually all day means forgetting to wear sunblock lotion.  I forgot how hot/sunny Texas afternoon can be until today.  Therefore, I came back home with an attractive tanline/sunburn on my arms & neck.  Like I said before, good thing I wore a hat otherwise I would’ve become a tomato.

Tonight, I’m also feeling appreciative of several friends in my class.  Work & school have been increasingly stressful lately, but I’m glad I have a few people that are willing to keep me moving.  Sometimes venting out to people can be quite stress-relieving.  :)     So I’d say, “Just keep swimming!”
