Living the fabulous life

Okay – so I have had the biggest struggle deciding on a title for this post. So why not “Living the fabulous life” ? Today, while having busy & hectic work schedule, I was mentally feeling at ease. Perhaps, knowing that Thursday is one day closer to the weekend excited me so I simply didn’t mind doing extra work hours today (I mean yesterday).

I thought about posting this next morning but opted for a prompt update. :)  After all, I have to make sure I let everyone know that I’m alive!

For Thursday work fashion, I decided to go a little daring. I put a great emphasis on what I wear to work because it represents who I am & how I feel that day. Plus, I just feel better when I’m dressed nicely. Most of the time, I put myself together very well except for a few days here & there where certain activities require of me to be more casual. I tried this skirt on several weeks ago & was a little hesitant showing up to a university research park. Maybe it was the color, or shape of the skirt? (It’s a very appropriate look for parties) Since school is not in session yet, I had a ‘why not’ moment & pulled out the skirt again. This skirt was brought to me by my lovely boyfriend, who was so thoughtful in buying numerous clothes for me during his visit in Malaysia last summer. I’m grateful that he has a great taste.

Though I cannot speak on behalf of serious engineering students, my quirky boss loved it!

During the day, I realized my cohort friend Yolanda was back in town after being stuck in the winter storm in her hometown for days. I invited her over for a dinner later that evening.

While I was running errands at Target, I found this beautiful flower bouquet & purchased to lighten up my apartment. Denton’s weather has been depressingly cold & gloomy for too long. These flowers smell so great & has become a wonderful decorative addition to my still-interiorly-developing apartment.

Yolanda & I had an amazing evening catching up on funny stories that occurred over the break, including a strange dream she had. I wished a dream analyst to hear this story because it was simply baffling. Dinner turned out to be a success despite my let’s-not-use-a-recipe-book attitude. By the way, I don’t use recipe books. I don’t follow their instructions anyway. I made some kind of chicken entrée that I improvised as I cooked – at least it tasted good, I think. Next time, I will try to write down what I used…

Following is some random photo-takings I commenced on these flowers. I have this strange obsession of taking  pictures of flowers. Blame it on the amazing camera by Canon. I’m starting to wonder if I could do something useful with all of those flower pictures. Decoration? Hmmm…

Tomorrow is another busy day, beginning with an early morning orientation & then a haircut. Oh, and then there is this guy (aka boyfriend) who is coming into town for the weekend, which means massive grocery shopping due to his ability to eat (a lot). What should dinner be for tonight? How do women survive everyday thinking about this daunting question?

Anyway, I live in a fabulous life.
