Wishes

This week is feeling exceptionally long & tiring for me already. I’ve been working full time everyday as well as working at home. Sometimes it just takes that long to get things done. I am pretty much responsible for all promotional materials coming out of my office & still has lots to go.

I am sort of wishing that I

a) had a skill in publication software

b) knew catchy phrases

c) was creative in general

d) took marketing and/or advertising as my undergraduate degree

e) was not OCD

Unfortunately, life turns out that I am none of the above so I just have to work with what I have. I’m also blaming my crankiness to early morning orientations & talking potential engineering students with a quirky attitude. If you know me, I’m not a morning person. Therefore, quirkiness can be a very difficult attitude to have.

Needless to say, though, I am very happy with my job & while it has been challenging at times, I’m learning A LOT. I know I may not be your typical student affairs person (aka – quirky, woo, forgiving, etc), but I’m loving this field. And, I’m missing the students – they need to come back so they can brighten this dull research park… ha ha ha.

Time for a healthy dinner, then more work. Yay for designing stuff endlessly!
