“Real” winter in Texas

I’m sure winter in Texas is nothing like in the Northeast – we don’t have 10 inches of snow just piling for days. But the problem living in Texas under this kind of weather condition is that people do not know how to handle the coldness & do not know how to drive in it.

I stepped outside to a freezing 30-degree morning – thank goodness to my beanie & an uberly warm parka. I didn’t feel the cold at all.  :)

After almost slipping down the staircase (remember, I live on the 3rd floor), I witnessed the beautiful whiteness all around me. You don’t see this very much in Texas. So, 30-degree weather & somewhat slippery road didn’t bother me much. And yes, Texans do not know how to drive in the wintertime. This morning confirmed my belief.

Here are some better pictures of the white Denton. I particularly enjoyed the snow-covered field of the research park, where I work everyday. This is truly the kind of winter weather I was looking forward to for a long time. I’m glad it has finally come!

Of course, I am ending the day with a warm, delicious hot chocolate.
