This week has so far been the longest week I ever felt in my life. This week was National Engineers Week (& thinking of all my engineers! aka Daddy, Mr. B., & Texas Tech engineers) so me & my boss had to endure a week-long series of events, outreach programs, and company tours. Some parts of the week turned out fantastic,, some others not so much, and the rest was just a hot mess. Every possible worst case scenarios happened throughout the week, which drained so much energy out from both of us.
Of course this was my first year being involved with Engineers Week so I did most of the assisting-type-of-jobs this time, but if I was to take over this project next year (which my boss secretly plans on doing so) I would almost die.
I literally had prayed for this week to be over. For the most part it has been a fun/exciting/adventurous week full of unexpected outcomes, but thank goodness it is the weekend!! My favorite part of the week was today when we hosted a engineering workshop for 105 middle school students enrolled in the Pre-AP science class. It was very exciting to see them collaborating together to build a motor car, bridge, & etc. I kind of wish I had that talent, too.

My life-as-a-busy-bee continued on as I rushed to the main campus to attend the 11th Annual Equity & Diversity Conference to attend the keynote address by Tim Wise, an anti-racist activist. His speech about our current state of racism was very eye-opening. I was very inspired to make a difference in this world, if not at least with the students I interact daily.

I’m looking forward to this weekend because I will be listening to couple of more keynote speakers such as Dr. Evelyn Hu & Hill Harper (CSI New York, if you recall of him) in addition to spending some quality time with my boyfriend who has just finished his exam for a class. I felt appreciative that he made the trip up here to support me, knowing how much I might be busy with school work this weekend.

{We made dinner together}
Tomorrow we are going to H-Mart (Korean grocery store) & Osaka Sushi (best all-you-can-eat sushi ever!) so I am totally excited.
I’m really glad that this week is over.
