Having an impromptu spring break (almost a whole week) is not exactly a productive way to begin a new week. My boss & I have been scrambling around all day long trying to catch up on things that should’ve been done last week. It’s not particularly fun when there is a huge, weeklong event to be done in a couple of weeks & no marketing had been completed yet. So yes, imagine that our little office was a unsurprisingly chaotic from phone calls, meetings, & emails.
However, there is always something interesting going on in our workplace, like today. A representative from Cookie Lee Jewelries were here today to help raise funds for Society of Women Engineers, which is our foremost growing organization in the College of Engineering. Me & my boss noticed a very impressive collection of jewelries that can be purchased. So why not…? While our official reason was to help our engineering organization, but I wouldn’t quite say that we didn’t have an ulterior motive. We are women. Women + jewelries = very happy women…make sense? Shopping on a work day? Yes, it could happen when you work for a university. We spent the whole lunch time choosing things that we each wanted, & it was quite fun doing something girly in a testosterone-filled place.
In the end, both of us got what we wanted. I was elated to see the new additions to my vast array of collections that I already possessed. Though prices weren’t exactly of my taste, I knew that much of it would go towards the student organization so I was happy to make a seemingly-expensive purchase.

Then when I arrived home, I was pleasantly surprised by the heart-shaped chocolate with my name on it. Thanks Mrs.B., you are always so sweet to remember me.
