This weekend has, so far, been very exhausting but rewarding. I returned home to El Paso on Thursday to conduct a coaching session [aka master's class] to young singers. It was a great opportunity presented by Kim, my high school voice teacher. Thankfully, the coaching session was with my friend, Stephen, and we conducted it together - 10am - 7pm. Also, having this on Saturday was more than challenging. Might I say it was the most exhausting experience I have ever had in my life. Never in my life I realized how difficult it would be to teach roughly 20 young singers who have limited experiences and knowledges in vocal techniques. Although my voice was tired and body felt drained, it was such a rewarding experience to witness young passionate singers doing everything they can to improve. I hope I offered something useful to them.
That midnight, me and my dad were on the road to Denton, TX. Yes, my interview with University of North Texas was coming up and needed to attend the reception Sunday evening. For informative purpose, it takes roughly 12 hours from El Paso to Denton with occasional breaks. I still think that driving overnight was just an insane idea but we got here safely. Tomorrow (or today to be precise), I am having a full-day interview with faculties and potential employers and couldn't be more excited for this kind of experience.
We plan on driving back to Lubbock as soon as the interview is over, so I can began my studying Strategic Management. By the way, that midterm is on Tuesday morning, and I am no where near prepared. Again, who would've thought I could travel this much in one weekend? Obviously, it happened to me.
An exhausting weekend...
