San Diego - Day 2

I probably should be sleeping, but I decided to continue our update on San Diego trip. Day 2 has already passed by, and I am beginning to get sad. Sure, I still have plenty of time until Friday, but it all seems like the week is going by too fast. I suppose it feels that way whenever you are having fun.

I am extremely proud that I have been productive. I finally realize that getting up early (9am is early for me) is so productive when you have plans to achieve that day. Today, we began our day at the San Diego Zoo. This zoo is nationally famous for its large scale and quality of service it brings to people.

{Our 6 hour zoo adventure began!}

First of all, this zoo is gigantic! We got there around 10:30am and didn't leave until 4:30pm. Let me say, there were sections that either we skipped or inattentively passed through because were getting exhausted. The weather was pretty warm and the walk was "really" long. I sure was tired by the end of the adventure.

{Snake - my face pretty much explains how I feel about it.}
{We enjoyed a delightful show by the sea lion.}
{The camel was so cute, but I wondered why it was foaming so much...?}
{Does anybody know why flamingo stand on one leg?}
{Cool fact about San Diego Zoo: occasionally, they have an escalator that leads to another trail!}
{I discovered a beautiful tree as I was passing by - of course I asked Z to take a picture of me.}
{Z and the rhino. He likes it.}
{Our highlight of the day was watching the cute panda. Also, it is Z's favorite animal.}
{I'd like to think that Z and the panda bear look alike.}
{Notice how diligently the panda is eating his food.}
{We also witnessed a very funny moment: a koala just sitting there chilling. I wonder what he/she was thinking!}
{A view of the zoo from the top.}

After a 6-hour walk, we found out that Z had a pretty bad sun burn on his face. I feel bad that he will have to suffer the burn and the "redness" until it calms down. It was quite a work out for both us today; we were tired.

However, our day actually ended a reunion with my high school friend, Hoi Yan. She currently attends the University of California at San Diego. It was a great opportunity for me to see her again and catch up on some old stories. I ended up laughing thinking how much we have physically and mentally we have changed since high school.

{Our dinner}
She treated me and Z to an authentic Chinese restaurant where I tried many new things for the first time. It was something new for me, but it turned out to be very delicious. Unfortunately, by the time we met Hoi Yan, both of our cameras were dead so Hoi Yan has all the pictures. Hopefully, I will get to have them shortly.

We have another long but a fun day ahead of us for Day 3. I can't wait to find out what tomorrow has in store for us. By the way, the weather here is gorgeous. I love it.
